Emanuele, how to spent a perfect day in London?
London is such a various city with so much going on every single time of the year. Therefore, ideally there would be a perfect day for any “day” on the calendar!
My personal recommendation, however, would be for an early start of the day with a walk/jog in one of the beautiful Royal Parks in Central London. Then have breakfast at the timeless renowned Wolseley on Piccadilly hence a walk to Buckingham Palace for the always fascinating changing of the guard. After that walk through St James’s Park to Westminster Pier and jump on a boat to Greenwich Village.
Here after walking across the little and nicely decorated streets of the Village, pay a visit to the famous Royal Observatory. Then take a walk back to the docks for an afternoon tea at the beautiful Cutty Sark. For the evening a must go will be one of the Musicals - Comedies or Plays in the West End, here there is something really for any taste!
Finally, dinner at the one and only “Ivy” on West Street in Soho.

How digital technologies enhance collaboration between you and your guests?Technologies are a huge help nowadays in our role. We have almost reduced to nil the use of papers to communicate with guests. iPads are constantly working in our desks to show the guests restaurants, itineraries, weather forecast etc. Well, emails and WhatsApp are the most used ways to interact with them.
What was the funniest request you’ve ever had from a guest?
As you can imagine, I have had countless of very funny and sometimes extreme requests. Just to mention, once a young couple, who was spending part of their honeymoon in London, after enjoying some time in Hyde Park, they came to my desk showing a picture on their phone with a black dog. Basically they asked me to buy for them a black chow chow male puppy and organise all the necessary things to send then the puppy to their country.
Also on another occasion a guest asked to hire the entire Royal Albert Hall for himself to propose his fiancè!
What do’s and don’s in London you can tell to your guest as a secret?
To be honest with you I do not have any secrets with my guests, I have always tried to be very open with them and try to understand what their needs are and what they expect from me. I guess they appreciate my job purely because of that!
As a leading concierge in Jumeirah Park Lane you must know what’s happening in London in 2017? What are the major events you are recommending to guests?
Most of the Events in London are quite repetitive, in the sense that over the years they have became such important appointments to do not miss whether in winter, spring or summer. The summer highlights are the Queen’s Birthday Ceremony, the Silverstone Formula 1, the Royal Ascot Racecourse, the British Summer Festival in Hyde Park, the season at the Regent’s Park open air Theatre, whilst during winter people are very much attracted by Winter Wonderland and the Christmas atmosphere with the major events in lighting the Christmas lights in Mount Street and Regent Street then the Fashion week.
What is the best romantic place in London for a date?
I really love Little Venice, with his beautiful canals and little cafes and restaurants, I find it very intimate and romantic.
